Problems with kenlow fan

Hi all I finally got my clutch sorted so now it moves
So I started it up to warm the oil to give it a much needed oil change .. But after about 5 mins the temp started to go up into the red
It has a kenlow fan fitted before I got it what should it be set at as the dial on top in engine bay
it has H...N...L where should the pointer be set at as the red sticker on side is well beyond reading many thanks for reading

Ps: it's a 2.25 petrol 110 on a A reg

Try what ever is opposite to the current setting , also check the thermostat .

It moves freely so not to sure where it was set ?? But I will check thermoset
