You could make a wooden ramp which folds. Hopefully my attachment works.
This can be reinforced by putting lengths of wood down the side. Bolt on type set up.
Two runners / guides on each ramp.
The mower could be loaded onto a sheet of wood with skateboard wheels underneath. Secured with couple ratchet straps. This will help protect the blades underneath and allow movement up and down the ramp.
The folding ramps can then go in either side of the mower.
Obviously will need securing to stop it rolling about.
Hope this makes sense and I have the right kind of mower in mind.

There's a lady gardener around here that transports all her gear in a Pugeot 206.
She just uses a small electric mower and lifts it in and out.
Her customers are mostly elderly people with small gardens anyway, The few that have bigger plots have their own mowers which she uses on their lawn.

If you're a gardener/landscaper by trade then the 90's going to be a pain! Can you even fit a rake in there?[emoji15]
I use my 110 CSW for my gardening work. I've got a hinged 18mm ply platform across the back, all my hand tools ( rakes, spades, forks etc. ) go underneath, along with the Stihl engine and attachments. 2 x 21" Hondas can go in the back, with room for a couple of bags of rubbish ( got the Brownchurch rack on for any more! ). The hinged platform can fold back on itself to allow for taller machines in the back (rotovator etc).
It works a treat. I couldn't imagine using a 90. But it would be a big ask to swap your Landy!

This was all beginning to sound a bit ' Heath Robinson'
but the pics explain ...any sort of ramps will need to be fold-able, as the 90 is so short. I like these tho, they look like fold out wall paper pasting tables lol.

Lol ...course i can get a rake in it ...and lots more, the Stihl tool that I have sounds similar to yours , engine then attachments for brush cutter, strimmer, hedge cutter, all goes in , plus hand tools, tub truggs for weeding, pruning saws, bow saws, forks , spades, don't forget us laydeeze are great at packing
And yes Trewey, you're prolly right, it's early in the season, atm I'm doing more in the way of winter clearance stuff, in particular a big Budleia cull, so not much mowing....but it'll come and yes i may need to trim down my ' mower' spec ...we have two mowers, one with a roller, one without and the one without has got to be the worst mower we've ever had, so maybe I should just revise my choice and find a wheeled small petrol one that is good quality, but a cheep leccy winch inside (Worried that Mr may not get his bike in with a which on the inside tho
) and go with that ...

A cheap 500kg winch won't be much bigger than the size of a man's boot.
A solution which would help you load all manner of things would be a small telescopic runway beam mounted to the roof. Obviously it wouldn't take huge loads but should handle a mower without issue

In fact scrap that. Could make you an even cheaper one....
2 pieces of rhs .. One both 100mm long. Sliding fit. So something around 60 60 x5 and 50 x 50x4.
Convert to imperial as you wish.
Mount the larger to the roof with some spreader plates so the end is about 300mm from the back door. It would need to be spaced out downwards so as to allow the corresponding rhs to slide in and out of it. some nylon bar stock would be handy.
Couple of holes in it for pins. An eye bolt through the sliding beam and a hand pulley....

Gonna look at a wee winch , and some ramps, gotta get a ramp that the old dog can use too as now we're moving back to town, I'm going to have to run the dawgs about a bit too ..

ooh, I'm liking that idea ...better than a little trailer that's nigh on impossible to reverse ( mainly cos you can't see the bloody thing )
P.s I am more than 33 yrs ....but luckily, less than 33 stone ..so thats ok innit ..:lol:

I'd just be wary of putting anything "heavy" heavy on that. The moment involved could rip it off the crossmember over bumps etc.

I've carried a 200 kg rallye bike on a towbar carrier on mine before but the moment was much closer so the forces implied on the member were shear, which it would cope with better.
To have a weight hanging out farther away transfers these forces more and more into tensile stress onto the crossmember, through the cross sectional area of the washers etc used on the towbar fitting. If your crossmember isn't good I would not recommend this type of thing.
I don't know the condition of your vehicle so can't comment
Maybe I should start fabricating this sort of thing for landies haha.
There is an existing carry box made by the le that clips onto a towbar and is pretty universal but it's plastic and for carrying say 20 kg
