Greetings

Sourced this timing belt for my K series from Land Rover Parts Shop . Com at £14:02 + VAT. It's cheaper than the tensioner. I'm used to paying around the ton for a timing belt kit. Has anyone used these belts?

I don't fancy connecting the timing gear together with a toothed elastic band, or at least I'd like it to be a decent band :D

Thanks in advance
Rat

Dayco were the OE parts supplier so it'll be fine ;)
Correct fitting is more important than the name stamped on the box ;)

How do dayco package their belts?

Dayco belts are supplied in Dayco boxes like this. MG MG ZT 2.5i [25KV6-177] 177BHP Saloon 01- 05 - Timing Cam Belt Kit | eBay
Rover belts came in a couple of diffent packages depending on weather they were for retail over the counter or workshop use. Over the counter stuff is generally boxed with Rover or Land Rover logos on the boxes like this. ROVER 75 & MG ZT FULL TIMING BELT KIT 2.0 & 2.5 800 KV6 ZUA000610 + FREELANDER | eBay
Workshop parts generally came in a cardboard backed shrink wrapping as a kit with all parts needed for the job just like this. MG / ROVER 2.0 / 2.5 KV6 TIMING BELT KIT - NEW (1144) | eBay

Interesting. I was supplied one folded up like a bike inner tube. It was sent back. My LR one came in a large plastic bag. They put it on top of a box of stuff I was buying at the time.

So it came without any packaging at all?? Sounds like they gave you one they had kicking about?? As far as i know all workshop belts came on a carded vacuum pack to keep them fresh!!

Packing was a clear plastic bag with my name on it and markings for ordering from Dresford which I think is the central stores. It was ordered for me as they don't keep them in stock. Had to reorder the 2nd rear belt as they only asked for 1. They came as the main belt did. I take pics of everything.
