recently bought a powerling chip box made by motorsport second hand but have no instructions. does any body know where it fits as it has a female and amale plug just like the ones on the fuel pump and a vacuum t piece??
 
There is two Powerboxes for the p38 Diesel. One for early models and for the later models, about 2000 on.

Hope you have the correct unit for your car.

I will have a look at my Powerbox in the morning, its easy enough to fit apart from one fiddly connector under the inlet manifold. Thats the big round connector.
 
TBH, mine was fitted when I bought the car so not sure.
All multi plugs are different so you shouldnt be able to plug it in wrong.
I think the vac pipe will go onto the inlet manifold.

ok mate to be honest the big plug doesnt worry me as you say its ob but could you please have a look at where to vac pipe goes for me ans maybe put a pic on
 
Has anybody with a powerbox fitted to the older p38 td got access to the silver labels where the part numbers are as the one I bought has a different number to the one stated on PSIs website for the car.

Mine is 100008
Psi say 200008

Might be the same but just thought I would ask and check.:confused::confused:
 
The vacuum pipe goes to the map sensor (black sensor with a vac coming out of the under side going from the sensor to the inlet man) It's mounted on the top of the diesel fuel filter, you have to cut this pipe and put your T piece onto it. If you're still struggling then i'll try and get some pics tomorrow, but it looks pretty straight forward.

yes it does,just connect it as i explained to you mate.
 
how did you manage that,you shouldn't have had to go near it,just cut the pipe like i told you.:confused:


I know mate but couldnt get me hands down to force T-piece into pipe so tried pulling it up thropugh the gap but pipe on bottom of sensor must have been dead brittle as it snapped clean off with no force applied. Me mate did the same to his whilst changing all the pipes for new ones.:doh:

there should be loads of room to cut and connect the t piece.
