But you have to remember that's coming from somebody running a p38 with a spare 1 for parts;)

what sends the messages to the dash like bonnet open etc is that the bcem as l was thinking of using the instrument brinicle in the iveco so all the gauges work

Alot of that stuff comes from the BECM via inputs from else where, but the message bit certainly does, that could be a bit of a nightmare to sort, but it would all be doable if you were a glutton for punishment so inclined to try.

But as you mention it.

I dont know how the Iveco gets it speedo reading from but the RR setup doesn't have an easy way to fit a cable drive too.
So something to consider. if you are going with the 350 on a yank autobox you may get lucky, or as you are using perhaps that other TB that may have it which maybe why you have chose it.

Lots of little niggly bits to sort I would think.

iveco is cable drive at the moment but as i am fitting a completely different cab i can go anyway l like as i will have to biuld the dash board, i could go satnav type if all else fails not much use in a tunnel but we dont have any in the midlands lol

just use a GPS speedo, smiths have a selection, or vdo if you want a cheaper one

i might tr
All comes via the BECM. Shame you are not closer or I would buy the interior.
l might try and lift out the whole wiring loom and use it in its entirety i assume i can un plug all 4 door looms and it wont affect anything running wise, that way i can use the dash/brinicle and have it all working
and yes collecting the interior from there would be pretty spendy with the fuel and ferry

i was having a mooch around the local 4x4 yard today and i found this P38 engine and box on the floor, the interesting bit was it has a speedo drive on the transfer box as pic shows, i might get lucky and find a way of converting to cable drive the same as the classic transferbox had, maybe

i was driving it about today just to see it all works before i start taking things off it and i noticed it has no error messages or faultcodes,
the aircompressor for the air suspension is missing as its on springs but it shows no faults does that mean some one has written the air sus out of the becm somehow to stop it reporting ?

A couple of links on the EAS ECU gets rid of the messages.

That's not a speedo drive it's a cable tube. The is no cable driven speedo on any P38 and there never has been.

well i found half a day to fiddle with the p38 today treated it to a new battery and a jet wash, engine came up like a new pin, the new battery seems to have caused the becm to wake up from its deep sleep having not run for nearly 2 years, last week it wouldent talk to me no error messages which i was told means the error message system is broke lol, anyway it wont shut up now displaying messages along the lines of window system not set door open bonnet open sunroof not closed, select neutral tailgate not set. tie your shoe laces etc etc anyway as i wont be using the doors of this p38 i needed to make sure it wouldent keep telling me the doors were open, as i couldent see a courtesy light switch on the A post or B post i guess the latch must have a contact in it signaling when its shut or open, so i just unplugged the door loom and bingo it couldent see if the door was open or closed and no error messages, just got to work my way through a dozen other things to see if they can just be disconnected
with out the bingy thing binging at me
