OBD2 is fine checked this last time i went to the vehicle last month.
he can talk to the becm and has tried to the imobiliser relearn but this has failed too any other hints cheers

Bit extreme, but you could get him to post the BECM,engine ecu and a key down to you - fit them in a slave car, code them up and post them back.
I did this for a customer in Cuba.

Is it a petrol or diesel?

If its diesel you can just turn off the immobiliser (and the alarm too if it is still a problem) in the BECM and thats it out of the equation. Worked fine for me for the last 6 months when the fob code when corrupt (All sorted now thanks to BBS and Irishrover  )
