Hello,
I'm trying to identify a set of pistons I have for a V8 and I hope you can help. They are attached to 3.5/3.9 rods (HRC1037) and the only identifying marks I can see on the insides are AE Hepolite 18386. They are also stamped with an 'M' on the crown.

Any thoughts on exactly what they are?

Many thanks

I didn't really want to make a song and dance as I'm not a Land Rover owner. Sorry if I offended.

An owners club/forum is always the best place to ask a technical question in my opinion.

Having said that.... greetings from the Rover 75 and MG ZT Owners Club!

Welcome ;)

Hepolite are the make, there may also be a row of elements giving the piston make up, something along the lines of AlCu2 and 18386 may be the batch number.

James is your man if you get him a pic

They are supposed to be brand new. They do look clean and have no signs of wear but storage has made them grubby. Rings are new.

looks low comp 8.13 from pic

Thanks James. On what models would they be standard fit? Are they commonly used on other makes? They were bought as a job lot some years ago now, believed to be 'TVR spec', whatever that means. It was never confirmed. The other parts were the ones required at the time.

Yes they do look like they have flame marks on the crown. Good nick though.

They are for sale to help fund another project so if anyone is interested let me know.

Many thanks indeed for your help.
