That doesn't surprise, it's like the fox hunting debate, those against it were/are those in the towns that probs haven't seen a fox, those against laning won't realise the ones that are "damaged" a lot of the time it's water run off. Yeah people going off the track n those with massive mud tires digging some up don't help, there could be voluntery restrains that us keen to keep lanes open would be happy to obide by, such as a certain trye type or closing them in say winter or part of it. Then there wouldn't be as much damage and more lanes could stay open, even if we could am sure many of us would go and repare such lanes.

Just my view :)

5 minutes in and its starting to annoy me! its closing lanes that causes the tossers to go out and give us gooduns a bad name! i know i always stick to the rules, once again the minority spoil it for the majority
 
It is still painful to watch though!!

At least so far it gives the impression that the walkers are the ****ers, even though there's more of them etc, they all appear very silly whereas the 4x4 guys appear sensible/responsible.

2 suggestions!
1. We should protest in our landys!
2. Walkers shiuld be banned from byways as they already have thousands more routes (I.e footpaths and bridleways) than recreational vehicle users do in the first place! Most of the uk most icon mountains can only be accessed by foot any way!

Well put, there seems to be a lot of do gudders with too much time on there hands

Think we all need to get together not all these little groups on forums and clubs but get a bigger group to support are side of this, when I'm out I love to take in the views ect just as much if not more than them, aswell as enjoying using my landy for what it's there for.
 
Glass stood by and did nothing in my area i went to a meeting to be told that there is nithing we can do and just to let them close all the historic roads in my area. i will never join Glass again they IMO are just as bad take your money and tell ya to feck orf!

If a body came along like glass that actually did somthing in my area then I'd be happy to help 5 years ago Glass had a chance to prove to me their worth they failed increadibly! When i suggested helping doing clearances it was ow thats far too involved getting insurances ect so dismissed. The very next weekend ourmclub organised itno problem.
 
I watched with interest, the complaint seems to be mostly directed at the lack of maintenance on the lanes just as in normal roads, if there is damage close the lane for immediate repares so everyone can enjoy them, im sure no one would object to this, the off roaders were prepared to do something to benefit everyone but was shot down, Im not being predjudice but they were all retired people i didnt see any young people complaining, it does seem a bit like dont they have anything better to do, What ever happened to compromine what about seperate days for vehicles and people so we wouldnt clash there seems to be no discussion about a compromise like this, its either one or the other, if the lanes are that damaged surely everyone should be banned and not just 4x4s, i bet if one of them fell and broke thier ankle the only vehicle that could reach them was a 4x4 they wouldnt be complaining so much!!
