Doesn't sound too bad and at least it looks like the EAS components in engine bay is still there. New tyres as well.
Looks like an 51 plate to me:D
Be glad it hasn't been converted to gas - engine may be in better condition:)

I have already purchased it collect next week ...am told it is very very nice and will not be disappointed Ohhhh how I've heard that before ... The gentleman I got it off said he had to by it if he wanted the defender he was buying .. The air sups conversion. Was done by his garage as air sus failed mot ?? Not sure what he meant ... It looks as it sat quite low so hopefully she drives fine worse case I ll put her back on air ..well guess time will tell ... Is it worth gassing this engine ? Or not only do 6 miles to work each way so guess not really .. Bring on he winter hehehe

If you do low milage youll never get your money back from gasing it
Somone a while back worked it out cost of converction cost of gas and servicing v petrol and it worked out you need to do something like 60k just to break even

not sure 60k is right I know putting 80 liters of lpg in at 69p =£55. 80 liters of unleaded @1.37 =£109 and a full tank =£137........

I use at least 80 liters of lpg a week so that is 320 liters a month petrol would be at least 280 liters so i save £132 a month

Well you're talking about £3.08p per gallon difference - averaging 18mpg, just 8,000 miles will pocket you just over £1300. The difference over 60K miles will buy you a tidy L322.

Dont forget the £1500 to fit a decent kit and god know what every year to service
The 60k was a rough guess i remember thinking is was about 4years motering for my milage might have been a bit less but still not worth doing to an older car

You forgot to add the cost of slipped liners or HGF:rolleyes:

Yes, well I do (at least) 15K miles per year - so LPG would save me £2500 per year over running petrol - easily enough to buy a decent LPG kit and a new engine after 3 years! However I'm of the "if it ain't broke - don't fix it" ilk - I'm not bothered about fuel consumption - I like driving the car. :) Actually I'm almost hoping the engine will go bang coz I want to build a new one for fun! :D I give it regular (daily) thrashings at the traffic light GP and it still soldiers on!

You could clear it with diagnostics (speak to nice Mr Datatek re software/lead) then pull the eas relay.

When swooping to coils I think the instructions advise disconnecting the multi plug on the height control switch, pull the switch and check, also the kit includes a bridging loom for the BECM to dismiss the 35mph warning.
