I wish there was a quick and easy way to change the back of the P38 to look like the L322.

Its the biggest clue to its age IMO.....it's so 90's.

wots the diff between those lights, superman - and the later square indicator version - I am led to believe they are bigger?

yu dint fit the headlight wipers then?

to fit the wipers i would have to cut the front chasie member completly away ( no thanks) lol and the back would be quite hard as even if u replaced the rear lights then u would be left with the ones on the tailgate so would look abit odd

i have seen that site before but i may do the rear lights at a later stage am going to look at doing the front bummper at the weekend i think that all is really needed for the back is a cover panel for the lower tail gate and new rear lights

Have a look here it might give you some idea what can be done with the p38.

Range Rover Body Kits and Upgrade Kit, Wheel, Modifications, Accessories etc

The problem with Range Over is their prices....they have totally priced themselves out of the market. When you consider I can buy an L322 already pimped with 20" gun metal metallic rims, chrome vents, privacy glass etc for less than £11K then take their kit and put it on a P38 with paint job, its just stupid.

If they read this, I hope they realise and start doing realistic prices.....at this point I'm looking at just getting the L322 or Discovery 3 and forget the DIY.

totaly agree there prices are stupid i must admit that why im doing mine bit by bit i know i will never get it to look completly like a l322 but its alot better thatn it was standard i must admit now time to rework my own l322 bumper i have to fit some how im sure i will some how

I'm even at a stage now, that even putting L322 headlights and grill on my P38 seems a waste of time and money.

Reason being the lights and grille aren't cheap and and the car is worth what now? £2000? At this point I'll keep it original and next year buy a new car and trade it in or sell it separately. With twins on the way I need a Discovery 3 with 7 seats now anyway....

my range rover is a 7 seater now i just brought the overfinch conversion off ebay for 300 and i brought the whole l322 front end off ebay for 350 included grill, lights, side vents, bumper, fogs and with the x zeon bulbs so wasnt that expensive but depends on what age yours is as mine is booked at between 5-7k so mine is worth it ,it is to me any way as its my pride and joy.

mine is booked at between 5-7k

Not to pee in your cheerios, but that maybe the book value, but in reality your car is not worth that in todays 2nd hand climate for the sale of 4x4's in general.

Mine should be worth £4500 at least, but I can tell you I'd never get that in a million years at the moment. They are so un PC, they guzzle gas like crazy, spares are expensive as are the repairs and servicing.

Unless you're a mechanic yourself and know what your doing and access to parts is cheap, even a classic is expensive to run.

With 2005 Discovery 3's, Porsche Cayenne's and BMW x5's going for just over 10-12K, P38's even if they are newer ie 2002, will not shift for their book values.

yea thats right but 2000 and under are alot better as they dont hit the higher tax band so a i would rather have a 2000 model and under than a 2001/2002 p38 and i have already been offered over 4k for mine but there is no chance i would sell it as its my pride and joy and it may be a gas guzerler i would say it drinks upto twice what a normal car does if that i get about 24 miles to a galon on a run where as a normal car will may be get about 40 if you are lucky so they aint that bad at all and the early l322 have lots of problems with auto boxes ect so not surprised they go cheap

Simple conversion. Trade the P38 in for an L322. They are going for a song at the moment.

Talking from experience, the L322 is much more refined and drives so much better than the P38.

IMHO.
