Simple conversion. Trade the P38 in for an L322. They are going for a song at the moment.

Talking from experience, the L322 is much more refined and drives so much better than the P38.

IMHO.

I'm tending to agree......which if you'd asked me 6 months ago, I'd say upgrade the lights and grille etc.

Even the wife had a look at the Discovery 3 on Monday when the car went in for repair....I think both of us realise its good money after bad sprucing it up to make it look like something it isnt.

well not every one opinion is the same i like my p38 and would never put thousands of pounds extra to it just to get a early l322 which have so many problems, i know of three people that have them and have all had to have there auto boxes changed and cost thousands to have done 1 blokes has been in the garage for 9 months so far as he can just not afford to get it replaced so i think i will stick to my p38 that drives like a dream and has had no problems really apart from the ones i knew about when i brought it and i carnt stand the look of discoverys any way not my sort of 4x4 i must admit

Hi superman, when you said it was a piece of p*ss is it just a case of old lights out and new lights in? Or is that too good to be true? Andy243?

i like my p38

Don't get me wrong, I love my P38 too, its just that I'm very conscious of what money I've spent and willign to spend on it when I coudl just save up that money and put it towards the real thing.

I didnt think I'd say that, because I have been very vocal about Range Over and doign up the car to make it look like an L322.

But in recent months I have had a change of heart, both the wife and I cant justify the money with twins on the way to make the car look prettier but not gain anything else from doing so, thats to say it doesnt make it newer or more reliable which after the issues we've had since its purchase are numerous and expensive.

I have a P38 HSE that I want to look like a 2door CSK Mk 1 Range Rover with cloth seats, round sealed beam headlamps, cloth sagging headlining, a rotted upper tailgate , coil springs and a distributor powered ignition system. Can any one advise me.:behindsofa:

Of course, and fit 130watt bulbs in them.
At least an air cooled VW engine doesn't suffer the plague of overheating problems that the high tech. all singing & dancing £50K plus pride of Britain does:beer2::beer2::beer2::beer2:
