Hi Chaps/ Chapettes,

Is there anybody on here able to help with a BECM sync issue near-ish to gatwick.
Had a flat battery and key-lockout managed to get the EKA to work but now appears i might have the Sync issue.

if not any suggestions on what I could try/ check next would be much appreciated, looked at getting the nanocom but after looking I'm not actually sure it will help in this case...

thanks,
Langy

Hi, I've had issues before when I've disconnected the battery for a while. I found reconnecting the aerial on the fob receiver helped as the ignition barrel is out of range otherwise

@Grrrrrr I did spot someone online hires them, but then lost it in searching... as you do :)

@kermit_rr how would disconnecting the pick up ring help? From what I can see it’s reporting something along the lines of ecm code wrong.

@RangeRoller dt its the GEMs ECU I need help with. But yes it’s flat battery that caused it. If someone can help, I’m not expecting it for nothing. Or if someone is trusting enough I’m happy to do all the running about.

What year is the car?

I meant if you to reconnect the fob receiver aerial if it's been disconnected, folks do this to stop battery drain.
But i didn't realise it was an ecm coding issues, so probably irrelevant anyways

New battery and enter EKA I would suggest. They do take bit of power so I had an 069 1000CCA 120Ah. Big spend for me but I don’t regret it one bit.

there are other things in the mix why it could be losing sync all I’m saying is try charging your battery first, most here use trickle chargers for P38s

I found on mine that bizarrely getting one key to work knocked the other key out.
Clearing the remembered codes in the BeCM with my Nanocom then gave me both keys working again.
Not sure what happens, but this has been my experience twice with the fobs now and thankfully clearing the RF code memory fixes it each time.
You can (of course, switch all this key related security stuff off) but if its a BeCM to engine ECU synch issue I think that's something else.

Well had a known good battery on it, plus hooked up to a constant voltage source.

Got the EKA working fine, the fob now lock and unlocks as expected but the service indicator is on the climate display and giving errors relating to ECU code attempts. And engine won’t crank. I hear the relay activating on the BECM power board but doesn’t seem to pull the relay in to the starter so forcing the starter I can get her turning over but won’t fire.

Was hoping someone may have been local with a nanocom but might just need wait till my ordered one arrives. Hopefully a reset along the lines of what @DanClarke did will help.
