p38 sunroof cracking noise no movement help

hello gentlemen;
please help :doh:,i have pressed the button to open the sunroof,then it moved down from one side and stoped,then i heard a terrible jamming noise,the motor is running and while running i can hear "crack crack crack ... continuously but the sunroof doesn't move.then when i press to close it i can't hear anything not even the motor running as if it is so jammed that the motor can't move it.even before trying to open my sunroof, the sun shade was retracted and stuck,cannot slide it to close even if forced.:doh:. now i have "sunroof open" "sunroof not set"
my head is cooking now when i drive,i can't tilt it nor open itnor close it,so i guess the only way to see wht happened is to remove the headliner right?

one of the runners is broken, if you do a serch it was coved a week or so ago..
