No Start When warm

First time poster, so please excuse any mistakes.

I have a Discovery 3 Diesel that has developed a strange issue when starting when warm. It will crank with no start, I've checked for codes and nothing appears, however after around 3 minutes of having the ignition turned to the second position I will hear a clicking/ticking. This noise is repetitive like a pump running, after it has finished it will start without issue.

I would imagine it would be a pump in the fuel system, however I was hoping someone might be able to give me a recommendation for further diagnosis methods.

Any help or advice would be very welcome indeed

First of all "HI", the lack of that minor thing was your first mistake... i can't excuse you for being rude or stupid enough to ask for help without even telling the exact type of your motor cos a "Discoery 3 Diesel" can have more kind of engines depending on the MY if you see what i mean... and now i apologise cos i became sentimental while this forum has a dedicated section for yous https://www.landyzone.co.uk/forum/introduce-yourself.20/

Hi there, thanks for your response.

Being honest I wasn't aware the discovery 3 had more than one diesel engine option. I've just had a search on Google and I can only see the 2.7 listed. If they were sold with other sizes I'm sorry that I wasn't aware of it.

Always pays on LZ to go over to the introduce yourself section and say hi etc.

When you have done that, mention what code reader you used.
