Ok! .... So I can't make up my mind:
My P38 is a 2000 DHSE with 145,000 miles and I've owned it for around 6 years. EAS is good with replaced suspension bags, new EAS pump, new in tank fuel pump, and running well - it does struggle to tow my big tin tent but then of course it is a diesel.
My L322 is a 2004 4.4 V8 with 140,000 miles and I've owned this for nearly 2 years. New front air suspension bags and struts, new fuel pump, battery drain finally sorted!,

Both have their downsides, but both have their upsides - arghhhh! I just can't decide. Helpfully advice appreciated but I'm sure there will be some sarcasm :)

Unfortunately they are totally different machines... The p38 has the true Landrover hit it with a hammer and you'll fix it (most of the time) but not the power and speed that the 4.4 L322 has. Also the P38 is older. Personally I'd consider getting rid of the L322 the P38 will become a classic eventually

not really sold the 51 vogue it was fun as it had working blues & twos with sirens aswell:eek: obviously disconnected them first

I know, I've had the black one since before Christmas, just cannot find the time to finish it. Got to go now, the Enemy has just said she's fed up looking at the back of my laptop. ;):D:D

Assuming it's "up norf", wish it was nearer to me. I got space on drive, although haven't finished autobiography rebuild yet !! but Mrs is in Ireland for two weeks so might have got away with it !! . . .. ;)

Sell them and get a decent classic.
P38 value should get you a full tank of diesel and a red 4x4 sticker for the classic.
100th post and full of useful information.

Why is the 38 down on power? Mine (diesel manual) pulls my 1800 kg tin tent + all the bits without a problem;)
Maybe it's just that it's an auto and therefore an anthill will slow it down big time with weight on the back. Solo it's fine, hence the dilemma I'm having!! :)
