I'm part of the production team for Wheeler Dealers. As part of the new series we're featuring a p38. For those of you not aware Wheeler Dealers is a program where we buy iconic cars, fix their faults and then sell them on for a profit.

At the beggining of the episode we always film a 'pristine version' of the featured vehicle. This is to show the viewer how good the vehicle can look and what we're trying to achieve by the end of the program.

As such we need an original as possible p38, preferably late 90s early 2000s to film that is in good condition. If you have such a car and want to have it featured on TV, please PM me with your availability over the next few weeks. We would only require you for half a day and would supply a DVD of the finished program after it’s aired as a memento.

Look forward to hearing from you.[/quote]

Saw one last night, Jensen Interceptor. Never mind where they find the numptys to buy em, the Jensen was up for £6750 when Mike Brewer went to buy it, quick drive round, rotten floor.......he bid the guy £5000.

Now call me cynical but thats £1750 off the asking price and the seller went for it and asked 'no comebacks?'

Buy a car without T&T its sold as seen, spares or repairs ffs. Wish I could find a few of these chumps who can be chipped 25% off the asking price!!!!

makes you wonder if the production crew go round first, get the price jacked up by 20% so the smarmy git can show off his bargaining skills by getting 20% off the "asking" price:rolleyes:
not that i'm cynical or owt you understand:D

I've got a very goodlooking black Vogue 4.6 Special Edition fully loaded and original and (touch wood) in good working order......it needs a good home so make me a good offer LOL

Still got then? Can't bear to part with it?? An X5 is just not the same:rolleyes: Is the X5 part of the no brakes BMW re-call???

I have a P38 with knackered airbags which ean that the ody s on the bump stops permanently. Every fault message imaginable is being displayed. The engine has seven slipped liners and is overheating. I am getting 2 mpg from my 4.6 HSE runnng on LPG and the 26" wheels fitted give me steering problems.
I have replaced the blend motors on the Hevac ten times in the last 3 months and am still roasting in the summer and freezing in the winter .
The box of tricks under the drivers seat keeps catching fire and althought all of the ten keys I bought from Ebay open the door the car won't start.
Hopefully Ed will take a couple of Valium, smoke a joint or two and fix my motor which is pristine..the front ashtray has never been used.....fag ends have been religiously thrown out of the window together with empty Guinness cans and Jameson bottles.

Correct me If Im wrong but dont you think filmin a pristine version of a vehicle is a bit false seein as tho if someone on here gave you the opportunity to film a pristine vehicle it would be their work that made it pristine and not yours.. .. therefore you are showin someone elses skills rather than your own... why dont you do up your OWN pristine vehicle and then film that. :)

Have you seen the program???

They look at a pristine example, INTRODUCE THE OWNER, and then take it for a test drive.

Gees Guys.

We all know the format and process of the program in question.
This chaps only looking to contact some enthusiast who has taken the time and trouble to bring and keep their P38 up to as new spec as possible, and as a result has something as mint and shiny as is possible to show off on camera and be resultanly proud of. Sort of an ultimate aim with such an Iconic vehicle.

We all know their troubles and foibles, and surely that's a big part of what this series is all about publically revealing.

This Guy did not ask what goes wrong with them and i am quite sure can deduce this himself with but a bit of reading and research.

I really hope you managed to find what you want in amongst all this negativity Wheeler Dealer.
Might i add a couple of more valuable comments that may be of use to you and possibly worth consideration of mention in the anticipated program.

Firstly the P38 is quite a complex vehicle electronically with many tricky problems and Faults. When running fine, it's a true delight to own and drive, but when something goes wrong, it can however cost an absolute fortune to put right or maintain. That is where belonging to such internet forums as this where owners freely share knowledge, understanding and know and share all the cheap fixes is an absolute requisite.

Secondly, although i personally have a vested interest in saying this, but will try to be more general, the vehicle systems do have a lot of built in self diagnostic capability and there are several low cost tools on the market that can access this and so help in ownership and maintainence.
