Hi guys, advice needed pls.when car is cold it runs like a dream.as it warms up,it starts to miss at or around 2000 revs and won,t rev past this point as she gets warmer.have recently had heads done and also had new camshaft sensor fitted. today she was at l/rover main dealer who checked her out on computer and say that everything is perfect with engine and all sensors, but that the cat needs replacing { £1100 } + labour!!!! she was brought home again and the cats removed but problem still exists.l/rover tell me the cats are blocked so surely removing should cure problem for now.am fast approaching meltdown with this car anybody got any ideas please before i take the stihl saw to her

my old escort had this trouble, even had it on a tuning machine and plug leads showed up fine. it spluttered and coughed in a certain rev range. changed leads and ran like a swiss watch.

not had the issue before or after tho with any other car!

:(as i said, had it on main dealer computer testerday and showed everything was 100% but don,t know if plug leads would show up as a fault.will change leads today and try anyway, must get a new blade for the stihl saw whilst there in case this does not work!!!!:(:(

have been to main dealer and indy,s and cannot get plug leads until wednesday!!! great service backup from l/rover.main dealer also informs me i cannot buy leads as a set but each lead has to be bought seperatly and is priced in ascending order from £12 to £23:mad:can anybody spare a gallon of petrol and a match?:5bbeatdeadhorse5::5bbeatdeadhorse5:

you can get leads from a good motor factors just as good and half the price of land rover. If l/rover are saying the cats are blocked and you have removed them it sould rev up has air filter been changed sounds like its not getting enoufe (great spelling) air

have changed air filter and now sourced set of leads from an indy but still have to be ordered in,but at much more sensible money.may just hold back on the bonfire for another few days........

have this evening fitted new plug leads and still same problem.when cold it is perfect, then when she gets warm, the old b***ch starts to cough & splutter and won,t rev out past 2000 rpm.please has anybody got any ideas before i do something stupid?

had a few beers last night and am now going to face this daughter of satan for the last time.:D:D has any body got any ideas where i start:eek: BOTH ME AND THE BEASTIE NEED MAJOR HELP!!!!! any ideas at all will be worth thier wieght in gold:violent::violent: this may be the next step:mil81:

have you tryed the air flow meter? if these go down it wont be picked up on any fault code reader. try and disconnect it and then try it. if it is telling the ecu that it is getting to much or to little air it will cause all sorts of problems.

have disconnected air flow meter and now she will not start but just keeps turning over & not fire up!! reconnect and she fires up 1st time.DOES ANYONE THINK THIS CAR IS JUST LAUGHING AT ME................
