p38 4.0 cat problem?

strange it sould run with the air flow meter diconnected. i spoke to a freind who is a land rover mechanic and he said air flow meters are a common fault on them and would cause this problem but its an expensive guess to go out and buy a new one. or you could buy one open it realy carfully try it if it dont work take it back look the parts person in the eye without smiling say it dont fit and you got one that fitted from else were but dont forget no smiling and dont go to land rover for it go to a motor factors and you will a/ get it cheaper and b/if it dont cure it they will more than likely take it back
 
:eek:am now going to wash my hands of it,will take it to main dealer:eek::eek:on monday morning and dump her on there door until problem is sorted:doh: i can no longer afford to be without a car and if it is going to be a wild expensive job then i will have the last laugh on her....:D:D:D thanks to all you guys who have tried to help me,but i am totally now out of my depth and i know it :hysterically_laughi:amen::mil10:::
