Hi guys . I was checking fluids today and I spied this loose pipe hanging about . The end is split and looks like it's been plugged in somewhere, I've had a good butchers about but am unable to spy it's home.
I have a lack of power issue and wonder if it's related.

It's a '97 2.5 m51 no maf, no egr and only a little over 100k

I am on coils yes !
I wondered if it went there, but also thought why would you connect a vac line to the eas from a fuel filter and dismissed it as a silly thought.

It's not a vac line it's the pressure line from manifold to MAP sensor. Tells the ECU the boost pressure in the manifold. Make sure it is clear with no splits and manifold connection is also clear.

I said vac line but it's a similar action on the pipe. It'd also help explain the down on power issue I have. Thank you.

I found its home, YAY! ?, there was a very small outlet stub under the inlet manifold nearest to the radiator. It was tricky to see as it was hiding and fairly small.
I replaced the pipe with some new silicon hose I had kicking about.
The test drive revealed a little of the missing power thats been missing , I suspect the coolant temp sender will reveal the rest.
