Thats how mine runs and its fine(eek) Don't see why previous owner did all the butchering and swapping

Righty I'm gonna try and get the correct original later ecu off the previous owner, he's been very helpful to be fair. Then Purchase a late model loom and try and re-instate everything. What coolant temp sensors are you using also what did you do with the egr valve etc any info appreciated I'll try and set mine up like yours!

I suspect if he hacked a manual ECU to work with an automatic one there will have been some fettling. I just don't know enough about it. Not for the first time we are missing Wammers and his knowledge. I guess he might have answered this in the past. Datatek might know, although I am not sure how much he has played with the manual.

Supposedly the engine ran great on the early manual ecu but obviously stuck in one gear won't work with auto box different part number ecu. Current ecu fitted is a early auto jobby with immo off I think.
I've read so many informative posts from wammers massive wealth of knowledge. I don't know what has happened but presume the worst

Just out of interest, have you downloaded RAVE and checked the differences in the wiring diagrams?

Haven't looked into RAVE again I have access to genuine Landrover topix will have to have a dig around. Recently started working at a Landrover specialist but I admit I'm no expert on the brand especially the early models!

The egr is gone , the thin pipes have blanks in end. believe the MAF replaces the IAT hence thats why faulty MAF would cause power problem. In morning I will try and photo the piping and put it on. Give me a bit of time and will try and find wammers post and put it on for you.

Right found what happens as wammers explained it to me
Right then, on EGR equipped cars IAT is a low preset in the ECU. ECU relies on MAF for running air temp readings. Normally if you have EGR fitted but disconnect the vac pipe to EGR valve car will run normally without issue. However EGR only runs at a steady fairly lightly loaded road speeds. It does not work at idle or on acceleration or when the engine is under load. If the MAF has gone duff and is feeding crap to the ECU the ECU may think EGR is operating and prevent high load fuelling. The ECU will only allow fuel to be injected that can be cleanly burned by what it thinks is the oxygenated air present in the cylinder. If the MAF is telling the ECU the airflow has dropped as it does when EGR is active, then that will cause your problems. If you run the car with MAF disconnected in your case the preset will be used for IAT. This may slightly change fuel usage as the fine metering adjustment extrapolated from IAT/ fuel temp and engine temp will not be as fine. Fitting good MAF is best option.
Hope this helps

Got it in one,I was going to keep them all guessing.:D:D

Not many ice rinks in Britain possibly only one in Wales, Made it far too easy! if you said behind the old b&q that would of thrown me
Rhydymwyn service station if you need anything the boss is a Landrover mastertech top bloke been around long enough he used to pdi p38's
We've got a testbook, t4, sdd and path finder plus topix login.
He's on holiday at the moment hence I'm pestering you lot for info!

Haven't crossed the border for quite a while, used to buy spares from them from time to time.Ruddy mow in sounds familiar, I'll have to trawl through the memory.:D
