went to my da's 2001 rr last week and battery had stood one cold snap too many, dead as a dodo.put a new one on couple of days later and frigged if it will start turns over but not a kick ,checked all the fuses they are fine.

for some reason when i open the door the screen comes up with ignition key in before i go near the barrel also the remote key wont open the doors now

any help would be gratefully recieved.

lubricate the ignition lock (light oil not wd40).. key fob wont work if car thinks key is in ignition which aslo could be why you got a flat battery in the first place...

hope this helps

The engine ecu EMS code has corrupted, or your becm has alarmed up due to the battery dying.

Use graphite powder on the ignition.

You need to resync your key fobs for the central locking to work on the button. If the fobs won't resync & the EKA doesn't work then you need some diagnostics.

If the car thinks the key is still in the ignition, it won't respond, fix the obvious fault before you go hunting for problems that may not be there:D
