overheating

hi all can anyone help got a freelander 1.8 petrol which is overheating had head gasket checked and told is fine any ideas what else to check changed thermostat top hose is shaking when hot and gurgling help

how exactly did they check and tell you the hg was fine?

As has been said, bleed the water system of air,(including the heater).

Gurgling like when something gets into the water, like exhaust gas from
A blown head gasket.
How was it running before??
Not all symptons will show if hg blown. Mayo on oil filler cap or white smoke
From exhaust.
How was the head gasket checked? Never seen or used sniffer test but have
Heard its not always reliable

Try bleeding the system believe there's two bleed screws and put the heater to hot! Is the thermostat opening they do stick!
