Are you sure you're getting all the air out when you bleed it? Run until the needle is almost up to normal with the cap off (well before it starts to boil) then switch off and let it cool down, with the cap still off. See if the level drops at all

Could well be an air lock, they can be difficult to bleed. Do you have a trickle of water coming out of the little bleed pipe at the top of the RAD into the expansion tank?
The fact that with the cabin blowers on and the blends set to hot suggests it's just lack of flow through the radiator. Is the RAD evenly hot all over? Is the aircon condensor so full of shyte that the airflow is restricted?

Should I have a constant trickle of water in to the expansion tank?

You say the viscose fan works, they all spin but does it roar like a tank if not its not locking up,
when you first start it it should be noisy they go quiet then noisy again at temp.

Power it up from the bottom then with coolant forcing the air out through the heater matrix..

@Wayne890 please ignore this idiot and follow what Data or somebody who knows is about to explain

If it’s up to temp and the viscous fan kicks in it should rip a rolled up newspaper to shreds if you poke it in.

If it’s up to temp and you end up with a newspaper and a stalled fan then it isn’t working.

Tightly rolled newspaper, engine up to temperature and idling, keeping hands clear, shove the end of the newspaper into the fan blades, if it stops, it's no good.
Thanks I will give that a go. Do the two small fans in front of the rad have anything to do with cooling the engine or are they just for the heating system. Is there a way of testing them? I’ve never seen them on
