Had a prang in the Hippo this afternoon.
Basically, met another car head-on coming round a blind bend on a single track road.
The other car was a little jap box and the whole front end is totalled. At first sight I thought the Hippo had gotten off lightly but having had a look underneath I see it hasn't.
Front crossmember is bent and the power steering fluid cooler pipes flattened where they go along the front of the cross member. Radiator is pushed back but isn't leaking. Clutch slave cylinder looks iffy but still appears to work ok. Number plate is smashed. Bit of cosmetic damage to the valence.
It's the cross member that's worrying me. It looks to be welded together so presumably will need to come off and a new subframe fitting. Sounds expensive.
