Since i bought my discovery 3 weeks back ,one thing iv noticed alot whilst driving about is how many other landrover drivers take a good look at my discovery at the lights ,junctions ,open rd etc iv never had this with any other vehicle iv owned in my 28 year driving career is this unique to landrover owners ? do i wave back ,smile or scream at them or just drive on ? has anyone else noticed this ? or am i imagining it ,ady
 
Do what I do and throw a brick at the cuunts. Fooking hate nosy bastids. Or shout out

You get a bit paranoid driving about up here ,who to let on to or look at while driving ,you see theres rather a lot of gangsters ,villains etc up here so not wise to make too much eye contact with people on the road ,there has been occasions people have come unstuck just by looking at somebody they dont know ,this explains why im cautious !

Where dya live Moss Side?
 
Im a few minutes north of the centre of city so believe me we av them all up here ,moss side is south of city centre and thats one place i wudnt go and say im from the north side if you get my drift !
 
i get a lot of looks when i drive my disco,


most of it men thinking "wish i had one" or kids showing their dads and saying get one :D


but if your truck looks like this, its gonna get looks





i had a women of about 70 say to me the other day she has never seen a 4x4 so dirty :D



and av still not wash it, it been over a week now :p

i get a few looks, and generally friendly responses, smiles etc.
i love doing the school run in a car coated in mud....all the little lads going 'cool!' 'look at that car' etc

generally smile if they smile etc, am on waving/nodding terms with a few blokeswith discos that i see regularly.... (if i saw em with a bird i'd wait fir them to acknowledge me first tho...);-)

I've had a few not so nice experiences too, people yelling abuse at me for driving a 4x4, and one bloke in a corolla pulled up next to me, blocking the road and let loose a torrent of offensive abusive language, aboutt me doing the school run in a 4x4. i was quite shaken at the time, and girls were upset, but now looking back i just think what a complete cock he must have looked to the otther drivers, shouting up at my closed window!lol
 
his corolla would of been under my disco and him dragged out getting a good slap



i had it with next doors fella the other week he went into the back of my 90, bit of a bend in the back door cos he hit the wheel, he said he didn't feel it, and I'm a prick, bit more verbals between us, thought to myself, **** him that was it... out come the disco and i backed into his 08 plate car and said "i didn't feel it, see how you like it" he has never come close my trucks again, i don't take peoples ****
 
I overheard a couple waiting next to me when i was parked up about running a 4x4 in the town, so i started it up and gave it a little rev.

An old TD engine running on veg oil smokes n stinks, needless to say they moved sharpish the old farts.

:D:D:D Don't get me wrong, I'm not a quiet retiring type eitther, that idiot just caught me off guard.....not like the dickhead driving a vw caddy the other day who decided to get horny with me for giving way at some giveway lines..... he got a right filthy look, abuse and sign language so much so that he stayed about 50ft away from my car all the way down the road. he ended up in the lane next to me on the dual carriage way, and i think he got a little bit scared when i thundered up behind him....he he he. think he thouught i was chasing him, coz he pulled off sharply at the next exit without signalling!lol Sally might be old, but she bloody goes when you put your foot down......hell hath no fury like a scary woman in a landy
 
I always love it when a nice clean BMW gets too close behind me and yet more mud drops off the underneath of the motor and explodes in a ball of dust....

For some reason there seems to be a much greater sttretch of empty road behind me afterwards than there is in front!
