in the 2 yrs i have owned my v8i disco 1 ( running on single pont injection lpg)

its gone through 3 sets of dizzy cap, rotor arm, bosch ht leads and sparkplugs.... trolling the threads i have already decided to go with magnecor ht leads and normal ngk plugs (replacing the plugs regularly) but i was wondering if it is worth replacing the dizzy and rotor arm with original landy ones as opposed to britpart...
at 29.74 for the dizzy cap and 24.18 for the rotor arm plus vat against 5.95 and 2.50 plus vat... is it worth paying the extra money??? ie will they last at least 4 times longer than the britpart ones??????
or should i just buy 2 of the britpart parts and just replace when i replace the sparkplugs... which is about every 6-8 months????
just out of interest how long are other members getting out of their dizzy ,rotor, htleads and sparkplugs?????
thanks in advance arca

thanks discool and daftpooly .... got the magnecor ht leads down to £116 delivered for kv85s and im gonna go for lucas parts as i dont think the landrover ones are gonna be worth the money.... talking of money ive run out of it so itll have to be the end of the month before i get em all.... then the bloody mot is due... looks like another month where the truck spends my wages ha ha.... if its not parts im buying its more bloody spanners!!!!! im getting quite agood collection now!!!!!!!

The question is now will they last twice as long as ****part?

Probably! I have found pattern parts don't last long; my Rangie eats rotor arms if they are not genuine Lucas, the record for destruction was I think less than 30 seconds. Put in genuine Lucas rotor arm and its' still working.

i've not changed mine since i bought the car  i put lucas bits in and a cheap set of silicone leads £40 ish and it's never let me down, well unless i go too deep in the water :D

I've had mine nearly 3 years now and never touched the ignition system, start, runs and drives spot on, single point LPG. It has started to get a rough idle on petrol though so it may be time to start looking at it all!

I've always been told Lucas for the dizzy and arm, Champion plugs and leads, this is the way I'll be going as the difference in price between these and pattern stuff is negligible.
Let us know how you get on.

Never used brit parts for the ignition so can not comment on them. But Stuck halfrods own brand rotor arm and cap on to my V8 3.9 RRC on single point lpg. Ran for 20k miles without any problems. Was also using bosch super 4 plugs. Just redone the whole lot. Plugs, leads, rotor arm and cap. Cap was slightly worn and rotor was still good. Always used bosch leads though.
Only done them because she was running rough. Turned out to be the vacuum advance system and timing was out 60degrees.
