Opinions on foreign wingmirrors...

Hi guys and gals,

Well it seems my electric folding mirror on passenger side has given up the ghost, I plan to take it apart and investigate at the weekend :suspicious:

Just been looking on fleabay for a replacement and it seems its half the price (including shipping!) if i get one from america. Can anyone see why this wouldnt work? I know they drive on the wrong side of the road but surely the mirror will be the same?

May be cheaper but things in mirror may be closer than they seem

And don't forget the dreaded import duties on the VAT and the original purchase price.

The mirror body will be the same but you may need reuse you existing glass ie. concave or convex.

bloody foriegn mirrors, coming over here and doing the jobs our british mirrors do but at half the price.....

Thanks guys, I didn't think about the glass to be honest. My drivers side folds and adjusts left-right but not up-down, and the glass is held on by some kinda really strong putty... Not the proper mounting plate. And my passenger one does nothing... SO I'm going to investigate whether it is actually a folding one or whether it has just been replaced by a cheap one because somebody broke it in the past...

Opinions on foreign wingmirrors...
