hi everyone i might have a prob ive got a series 3 1978 diesel now my son by mistake put 6ltrs of oil into the rocker cover cap instead of the oil filler cap am i goin to have probs all the oil has drained into the sump thanks for any advice ps im new to here and to landrovers thanks again

Oil into rocker cap or oil filler wont make any difference - but why 6 litres?

if it is overfull on the dipstick then remove any excess. DO NOT start the engine if overfull.

Before driving it I think you might want to post a couple of photo's showing where the oil was put in and where it should have been put in just to be on he safe side.

Sorry, but what's the difference between the rocker cover cap and the oil filler cap? Aren't they the same thing? Or am I being dumb...

not if you swing the cam timing and skim the head to increase the CR, btw LPG has an effective octane rating of 114(ish) so can cope with compression ratios of 12:1 and above

also i take it your v8 is a 3.5 and your running a 3.9 cam
