Last week the oil warning light started flickering on tickover as I had got home from work, 5 miles, so the engine was warm.

I changed the oil and filter and everything looked OK.

We have been to the Lakes this W/E no problems, checked the oil and water when we got home last night and things seem OK. The oil was down a bit to the full mark but I had over filled it a bit so I wasn't over worried.

Got to work this morning and the flickering was back. The light goes out immediately when I rev it.

What could be up?

What do I check in what order?

My thoughts were to check the oil pressure to be sure the sender is working, are gages dear or can I borrow one (Mirfield)?

Bob.

in cab guages arent an answer switch is enough get pressure checked poroperly ,if low could be main brgs ,big end brgs ,oil sqirts ,cam brgs ,relieve valve stuck open etc

Hi, if you have good oil presure at cold start up and as soon as oil warms it looses presure there is a clearence issue, take a oil presure reading @ tick over cold and tick over hot !!

change your oil pressure switch,
did exactly the same on my disco after a run

changed switch no further problems

start with easy things first, there are loads of threads on here about this so search
