Hi all, need a bit of expect advice please - TD4, 54 plate 85k mls.

Since my last service have had light blue smoke problem & lumpy engine. Particularly bad at cold start up. Have noticed on the dip that they have overfilled my oil. Could this be the cause of the problems? If not what is the most likely cause. Performace is still VG and no loss of power anywhere apart for an annoying shake at 2500 revs which goes at 3000 revs
thanks, SommeLandy

O M G dude the oil was overfilled? That's an engine rebuild man! Holy smokes, drain all the oil immediately, then run the engine dry for a bit before refilling to the correct level.

By how much? Couple of mm unlikely to make any difference! If loads drain a bit out then recorrect level! Do not do above^^^

I would say it is about 6mm over the max. mark. S..t Hope it hasn't buggered the engine. Have been th France and back since!

thats the reason i went there:)

I've been to Ypres too, prob gonna go Verdun at some point.

That whole period of history fascinates me, I just don't understand how it was allowed to happen and go on like it did for 5-6 years. Sanctuary Wood in Ypres is a must, brilliant.

I love their museums out there, totally different to the uk. Some of them are basically outhouses crammed full of rusty old rifles and trench mortars that have been dug out the ground and just left in a corner. Proper hands on, love it

Yep, I do the Battlefields quite a bit, the Somme being my main interest. The Landy is a must, esp in Winter!

Just spoke with Garage. They reckon might be getting fuel into engine via sump which is why the oil level is showing high ? It's going back tomorrow to try and sort out. Was showing a bit of a problem with 3rd injector in the service - might be the cause of the problem?

yes been there too ,4 years ,e4ven the mrs and the kids found it fascinating ,though we couldnt go in the tunnels at vimy ridge ,we didnt have a lot of choice and too much was invested to give up by either side
