interesting stuff, Davie - yu int taken the complete top hat section off then, to replace the vertical section of the inner wing?
I take it yu are going to patch the horizontal bit, otherwise yu mite need to replace the battery tray.
I found the best way to replace the bottom of ther "A" pillar was to cut the relevant bit off a scrapper.
Been out and busy for a day or so, so just seen yo thread. Keep up th egood work :D.

i might have to take the top hat of on one side and i might need to redo the baterry tray as well as thers loads o rust under it:mad: due to a poor repair before i bought it

as to the door pillar ive done another fred on that cos im trying to make 1

ill let you know how i get on:D

I have a drawing of the bottom of the door pillar if I can find it. Be forewarned - it is double skinned. Do you need to replace any of the inner a post? I will email ya later.

I once had an old Rangie, my first, that looked like that.

ive ended up having ter cut away most of both skins (i think)
and has to cut out some of the inside (ie inside foot well as well as a bit o floor and some sill:mad:
think ill stick to mi tracters in future

im thinking about giving it its own fred as its taken on a life of its own ;)

kids ave even started calling it fred the shed:D :D :D

ended up taking some of the carpet out to get ant other site
so after work this week im gonna strip the interior and deal with ever single bit o rust:eek: then weld the lot

my latest problem on the welding front is once i striped out the dodgy repair work (rivited in and sealed over) i found it had been welded under neath with another dodgy repair and who ever had done it hadnt sorted the rust so ive now got ter cut that out anorl cos the rusts been sandwiched between two seperate repairs and left ter fester

pics ter follow when i get home later

daft cheers fer yer FWD been practicin welderisin
ive decided on a clarke 151te gas mig that can be converted ter tig ( fer if ma brother will weld fer me ) £280 incl vat frae machine mart anyone opinions
