Obtaining Type Approval

My Brother and I are thinking of making a landrover of a challenge truck style. Make a chassis out of 3-4mm wall rectangular box of a similar size to an original land rover chassis with the intention of competing with the vehicle.

How do we make it road legal?

ie. type approval

Kit car SVA?

I think if you list it as agricultural vehicle then the rules are much easier. I seem to remember a team on scrapheap challenge did that. All the other teams were fannying about getting lights in the right place and all that and this other team said agricultural and that was it. very funny but I don't think you can run it on the road all the time, it has to be to go to shows or to do agricultural stuff, you know spraying crap on the roads that sort of thing. Rules may have changed as it was a few years back now.
