I could blame the wife, but last year i put a tankful of U/L in my 2000 Disco Td5 - it was OK afterwards, just a noisy fuel pump.

10k miles later, i did it again in February although only 2 litres this time - after 30 tankfuls i was hoping the U/L had just diluted through - but the noisy fuel pump has been getting worse and worse and then 2 weeks ago when the fuel was low the car wouldn't start. I got it started by running the priming procedure in the manual.

It's done it again today and i managed to run the battery flat before I thought to run the priming procedure etc.

being the numpty that i am - what do i do next:

a) has the U/L cleared through or is it still likley to be sloshing in the tank and kanckering the pump bearings every time the fuel level gets low

b) is the filter knackered - if so is it an easy job to replace it and how do i get access (presumbaly in the O/S rear wheel arch)

c) do i need to replace the fuel pump to stop it screaming and cure the dodgy starting issue?

cheers guys

do you need to drop the fuel tank to change the pump, or can it just be done from above through the boot floor?

cheers

Hi Pat,

All fairly simple, guides can be found here:

www.yarkshireeepuddinsferidiots.com

and here:

www.weloveyarksheeerpuds.co.uk

Oven will cost you about £180 and batters will be about £2.

I had yorkshire puddin problems myself recently. I changed the above but it turned out to be not enuff mix in the tins. They have been filled and the puddins is mahoosive again. Actually ended up putting the original puddins back in so I have a nearly new one if interested.

:D :D
