Noisey gearbox

How easy are the 300TDI gearboxes to rebuild? ......... any special tools required?.

Recently the box has started whining in 3rd 4th and 5th ........ sounds like shot bearings to me

I think it's the R380 box .......... reverse is right and down

Noticed yesterday it has an oil leak and low oil level ......... topped up the oil (with the proper synthetic red stuff) and it just seems to have made it worse

Any help greatly appreciated guys n gals

Nobody ever bothered to rebuild one for themselves then???

I can feel a Landyzone how to article in the making

Now where did i put me overalls???

when the supply of good used boxes for less than £100 drys up i am sure someone will find the 12 hours needed to properly rebuild one a good use of their time

Perhaps it's just me then .............. but i'd rather know that my money has been well spent ............ never know what your getting with the likes of ebay etc etc and TBH i've not seen one for less than £150
