Evening all,

Looking to update the stereo in my RR 2004, and after much searching this looks a good bet

Anyone here have experience of this. I wanted to get a Pioneer stereo with Apple Carplay but was looking at almost 800 all in, this is going to be 500 with install I've been told by the local stereo guy.

Any insight or other recommendation much appreciated, key things are want is a good sat nav (google maps for example), ability to make/receive calls, and charge/connect iPhone for music via bluetooth

Interesting it says in the description that it will fit the vehicles with the sat nav unit....but in the other box it says that if DSP is fitted it won't work....almost all the vehicles with the sat nav screen will have DSP...clarification needed I think

I emailed them, the answer was they would supply a longer cable as theres a connector in the boot area it needs to attach to if the existing has DSP

Feedback tom supplier -

1. Is there are option or does it have digital radio? No.
2. Is it possible to upgrade the android software version in the future? If so how? No.
3. Is the map 2d only or does it have 3d and/or streetwise like using google maps on my iPhone. It support 2D and also 3D.
4. Can the stereo connect to the internet via my iPhone? Yes.

My car has DSP, so will need the extra long cable.40YSD for optional, we will send you the invoice after you have ordered the car radio.
Please make a note for the optional items, then we will send you the invoice after your order.

Ahhh...fair game, best of luck with it. The L322 is a complex beasty, but if it is plug and play...happy days!

Hate to point new members to other forums, but a member called Joe90 on www.fullfatrr.co.uk is a L322 ICE genius...he has converted his to run a full PC based system using the existing screen and button interface....might be worth checking some of his posts....makes my head spin, clever guy!!

Hi, Just before I sold the Range I updated the stereo and did quite a lot of research as to the different makes. I went for this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTORADIO...2-04-HL8725-/250814210443?hash=item3a65b1218b
Mainly because it was being sold by a company in the uk, should there be any problems and the guy was very helpful. Have to say the unit generally worked well but the processor was very slow and the interface a bit ponderous to use. Bluetooth phone was excellent and the sat nav whilst generally accurate was clunky and nowhere near as good as Google Maps. The Radio took 30 mins to install (plug and Play) as I had the HSE Radio without original sat nav. You need to run a cable back to the amp if yours has the posh radio setup. If I had my time again I think I might go for the Android version as the processor speed is faster. Just remember to fit the data plug up by the centre speaker so you can connect your old unit to change the clock and zero the trip computer should it be required. Definitely buy from a Uk distributer as if there are any problems, you may have great difficulty getting it sorted in China or Hong Kong.

Beware of the DSP issue. Even if they say it will work, do your research. The long lead they talk about connects in place of the BM54 radio module in the boot. I have yet to hear of one of these units working straight out of the box.
