Hello everyone im new on here just picked up a 56 plate range rover sport! Had a td5 before but gone to a rr now. Have experienced some problems straight away obviously being a land rover lol. Firstly i dont have a dvd player in mine? Only sat nav disc player, do some not have dvd players? Secondly the cd player takes in cds but no sound comes out? Radio works perfectly though. And the microphone seems to not work when recieveing or making calls? No other real problems yet other than my suspension compressor needs rebuilding (shop i bought it from are booked in to rebuild it again as the piston is too tight and filling the resovoir to slow apparently causing the EML to come on) other than that i am well impressed with it! Its not slow and gutless like peoplw make out its the baby 2.7 but certainly shifts! Will be doing lots of reading on these as i thonk im going to spend my life looking at problems with it haha

Hi & welcome.
The 2.7 is pretty lively for a diesel.
Are you sure the EML is due to the air compressor?
Has it had the cambelts done, hopefully it's had the oil pump upgrade done at the same time - casing is known to fail & take out the belt etc. Oh the joys of LR ownership.

Im sure there will be lots of pi$$ taking from stupid questions lol. Not sure Martyn the dealership plugged it in and said it was the fault but thought it was strange a suspension problem coming up on the EML lol will be buying my own basic reader as im sure i will need it a fair few times now lol

Belts should be changed at 105k miles or 7 years. I'd get them done asap if not done yet. It's recommended to get the oil pump upgrade done at the same time as the oil pump housing for the belt tensioner is weak & can break leaving the cambelt to do it's own thing & wreck the engine. The new oil pump has additional strengthening ribs added. If the belts havent been done then it's unlikely the oil pump has been done as belts have to be removed to do this. Not an easy job & most garages will charge anything from £500 - £900 for a belt change. Thats why you see alot of Disco 3 / RRS TDV6 with this sort of mileage for sale as owners get rid to avoid the cost of doing. Is there any service history? It would have been a major bargaining point if the belts havent been done.

Lots of service history but only dating to around 2012 when it was on 110thousand. On 130 now so not done alot in a few yrs. Theres nothing major in the service history just the basic stuff but will have a look myself later at the belt if it hasnt been done ill get it done asap with the oil pump upgrade. Thanks alot!
