hello and happy new year to u all i have just bought a 1975 109 its my first landy its been stood up for years but having put some jump leads on it started straight away it has a compressor that runs off the gear box and as a result of this is registered as a agricultural vehicle so is tax exempt does not require an mot and can run on red deisal all the rubbers r perished but apart from that all seems repairable i was just wondering if the agriculture business can be removed by dvla in the future or is permanant as long as i keep the compressor

You can change the taxing of a vechile easlyer, or could, its on the V5 change it to PLG taxation class :D

Happy new year and welcome to the forum

thanks for your reply but i think u misunderstood i dont want to change it but i also would not want the dvla to be able to change it and that was my question have they got the right to change it if i keep it as it is i might even put it to work as it came with a set of hoses and tools that run off the compressor

I think you'll find that it's only agricultural as long as it main use is on a farm. Also the entitlement to use red is usually limited to a couple of miles of the registered address.

the vehicle as far as i know has never been a farm vehicle the red deisel limit is 15 miles per day on the road which is fine as that will get me to work and back i think it was first owned by british gas and used for digging up the roads the person i got it from lives in the middle of a large city and before him it was owned by a garage guess i will just have to wait and see when the new log book arrives
