new 1988 90 few small issues, help please??

you shouldn't need to adjust the hand brake cable, but the hand brake shoes. Not sure what the chap has tried, but just so you're aware!
 
Never admit to having a mechanic look at your car on this forum!!

I have even had to stop my butler cleaning my landie to prevent more abuse.

By the way, if this is all that is wrong with your car, sounds like you have got a really good one - enjoy.
 
hand brake cables are notorious for stretching ,you must adjust shoes first then cable ,if no adjustment on cable left it needs renewing
 
Adjusters on back o' hand brake drum... didn't ye see me link?;):D

I did buddy, had a very quick flick through it. problem is i just moved house and still havent settled in yet. most of my tools are still in boxes and crates, havent got the time to unpack and have fun playing with my landy's. just knocked a few walls the other day even so i can get them in the back garden!

you too huh? my butler does mine for free cos he likes mine soooo much....!

personally i love this defender it think it looks like the mutz nutz!! going off roading for the afternoon so will know more by the end of the day....! :p

cool, will get it done this week. but am going to get new shoes fitted anyway, there only £12 or something like that and might as well do them while the drum is stripped.
