your dashlights do not need much power, you cannot conclude that the bat is ok on your dash lights

try lowering and upping your elect window and radio at the same time for a while.

sure that your battrey is flat

Dash lights going out is a sign of a low battery, it's cos it's trying to put all the juice to the starter and there's hardly any juice in there, so your dash lights go out due to this.

Dash lights are only LED's/small bulbs. They could run off a watch battery.

flat battery is the most obvious problem which is easy to check for. If the battery comes up as ok then my money lies on faulty ignition switch. If the dash lights weren't dimming down I'd say that the starter solenoid or starter flylead could be to blame.

Hi,right it started first time this morning!! I checked the battery and there was 12.05 volts and when cranking it dropped to 9.5v but once fired up went to 14v so i dont think its the battery because all the windows stereo e.t.c worked fine and in fact the stereo was on when i started plus interior light.I did check the spade connector on the starter and it seemed a little loose so i tightened it and cleaned but am now wondering if it is a loose/dirty connector?i am going to keep my volt meter with me incase it goes again and prob clean wire on back off ignition switch but any more info/help would be great cheers all
