hey okie, do you just come back to the forum every year to revive this thread?

You brought it back from the dead in May 2010, when the thread had been dead since May 2009...

and now you come back to revive it when it has been dead since August 2010... to post the exact same thing!

PaddOKIEs Spares???:)

i reckon paddocks will be well chuffed with these 8 pages at least 7 of them praise them are you sure paddocks didnt start this thread themselves.
Oh and by the way britpart are really crap. paddocks allways seem allright to me

I have been using this site for the past 2 years and they have been excellent. The parts are very well priced and not cheap rubbish. Delivery is also very quick, sometimes next day. Even when comparing the parts to eBay and the like, the prices are competitive. No grumbles from me! That reminds me.. I need to order a head gasket kit as mine has just gone! Doh..

I have had only the best service from Paddocks. I have been ordering for the past 5 years and the service has been 100%.

When I did have a small problem it was sorted very quickly and to my full satisfaction.

Well done Paddocks.

I don't see how anyone can say their parts are competitively priced. If anything, I'd say they're more on the pricey side. I've always found their shipment times to be mediocre at best. Worst problem I've had was cancelling an order even before they had shipped it. They said I'd have to return it as per their returns policy. Bit of an inconvenience.

I find Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order. - Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order. to be quite a bit cheaper and better overall.

Since I sold my Discovery and bought the Landcruiser I have had little dealings with Paddock however, in the past they were very good, now if I need something delivered to me here in Spain along with a couple of my customers who order their parts direct we have all had stirling service with 4 days delivery being the norm. When it come to pricing you have to think Sainsbury's and Tesco's, one month the bread and eggs are cheaper at Sainsbury's but their meat will be higher priced than Tesco's, the following month it will be the other way around, not always the same products and like car parts the brands are not always of equal quality, you have to be prepared to shop around to get the best deal and of course take on board some of the advice you get from decent forums such as this one. This thread does get a revival once in awhile and so far my positive opinion of them has not changed, if you read between the lines you can see that Paddock are not such a bad deal.

regards

Dave

paddocks = crap customer service ( my experiance ) parts missing from the order and of course ****part rubbish that has to be replaced within 2k miles. They're not for me thanks. And its amazing how many people who never use this forum suddendly rear up and tell us how wonderful paddocks are isnt it !!! not that i'm implying anthing HONEST !!!!

I'll chuck a few comments in on this one even as its an old thread. I've used paddocks for over 25 years and remember them when they were a small outfit in the back of nowhere up in the peak district. Then they were friendly and always helpful, never had any issues with service but non genuine brake parts were a horror, but you got what you paid for and they kept my 2A on the road.

When they moved to their new (well it was when they first moved) shiny tin industrial unit, something went horribly wrong. Too many dollies on the phone who didn't know the difference between a series 2 and a range rover. Customer care went through the floor and the process for getting refunds was horrendous.

to give you a few ideas,

the best one was ordered an exhaust box and got a SWB galvanised chassis! I'm too honest and gave it back

recent orders that have gone wrong
Brake pads for disco, supplied ones for a BMW, same part but cheaper, well nearly, the pads are the same but the replacement bolts are the wrong thread, use them and knacker the threads. Talk to paddocks, they say they will investigate and get back, but never hear from them despite numerous calls to them.

6 disco 2 oil filters delivered, all have wrong thread for mounting on a disco 2. Not even worth trying to get a a refund for these, the hasel just isn't worth it. Stick to genuine ones the extra cost is small.

so in summary, I still have a soft spot for them, just dont expect too much from a company whose business plan is stack em high and flog em cheep.

I've recently bought a land rover and have bought twice from paddocks no issues at all. I've just put in a third order for some clutch gubbins and last night received a call (at about 7pm) from a lady at Paddocks saying she's a bit confused by my order because the clutch bearing doesn't match the clutch bits i've ordered and asked me what I wanted to do. Very very helpful and clearly had very good knowledge of the products. In the end we plumped for not bothering to order a bearing - which saved me a tenner and lost them one, but goes some way to proving they're pretty sound.

So that's another hundred odd quid for paddocks and another happy customer (again).

As this thread is third when googling for "paddock spares" I thought i'd better post my experiences to give another perspective.

Will I be using Paddocks again? Yes damn right!

(i'm not linked to them at all or anything)

I have used them to send stuff over here to poland for me and i would happily recommend them, so far had 6 deliveries and every one has been spot on, right gear, quick delivery, yes you get what you pay for so cheap stuff is cheap stuff but as to would i use them again, yes no problem for me so im happy.

I've used paddocks twice, first time AP clutch kit, second time Service kit both turned quickly and kept me informed

I've just used island 4x4 for 2 oil cooler pipes (as paddocks don't stock them) good price and just had a text (i ordered them saturday night!) that the courier is delivering between 3-4pm so my other half can be in to sign for them :D
Very impressed so far, see why people like them!

I ordered some wheels froms paddocks, they didnt have the colour in stock, he rang me and offered me options, my new choice turned up at 10AM the next day... I will be using Paddocks again...

Well it's sounds to me like the thread was started in haste and now they shall repent at leisure.

Paddocks deliver a good service and like many 4x4 companies have a huge demand so perhaps accidents and mistakes happen but that no reason to slag a company off directly.

Yes I have posted about companies that take money without having the parts in stock and that is really disgusting, but Paddocks seem to put right any errors quite quickly. If they haven't done for the thread starter the perhaps it's a bit more of a personal thing.

I will certainly be using them again and again as I have in the past.

Dear Mr Padock Spare, my name is Ian and I live in Fleet with a 200 Discovery 3 Door so next time I will look forward to a 10% discount lol

I called in for some parts last week, one item was out of stock. The guy said no problems we'll post it to you no charge. Two days later the parts arrived. I really don't have any problems with Paddock's. I've been doing business with them for over 20 years and have yet to have a problem with them.

I ordered 2 wiper arms and blades for my series a few months back on economy delivery, wasn't desperate for them so no rush, anyway they didn't turn up so I got on to paddocks and they said they'd posted them a few days before but they would send some more out. Two days later both sets turned up! When I rang paddocks they said keep them both for the inconvenience, can't grumble at that just wish it was a set of tyres I'd ordered! :p

Wich would be a recomendable web place to get ones spare parts for LR ?

So far as I can see, Paddock's is not as bad as that, but if we take into consideration price / service.... where else can we find a better option ?
