My Freaklander's Started Smoking.........

Just in time for the smoking ban........me FL has decided to every now n then smoke from the centre heater air vents on the dashboard........just above the radio................I thought she was on fire the other morning..
What's wrong anyone got any ideas??

hi cats. . . .could be a slight leak in yer heater matrix , is it like real smoke or steamy. . . .if its like real smoke then it is possible that yer heater resistors are burning or ya heater motor is playin up. . . .bit more info is needed fer porky to ta diageggnose it . . . . .porky likes cats

Hello Ming long time no see.........it was not a load of smoke I thought my radio was burning at 1st............funny you mention the heater matrix..........it leaks onto the passenger footwell floor??? Hmmmm could be a connection here me thinks............. My Gods I'm quick at catching on aint I

But the smoke aint coming from the floor, i's coming from the air vents..............mind you it aint done it all this week..............very odd

You'd better get it checked Cats Eyes. deffo electrical

Check the heater dial is working positions 1 -4. If not, time to get on your knees and crawl under the steering column. The resistor for the heater is under there, its green and held in place by two screws.

Also is your radio a standard LR one?

Window switches can stick in one position burning out the contacts, ciggy lighter perhaps???
