If you were take take all doors off; all glass out; front and rear wings off, then all that would be left is steel isn't it? I know the roof, pillars, floors, sills etc are.

Then you could electro-phoretic coat the body shell, rather than galvanise it.

Recognised the excitement but didn't like the sound of the angle embedding itself in your head - are you OK ?

It hasn't changed your personality/enthusiasm towards Landys then?

Good luck and Merry Christmas to you

Just a follow on to the galv body idea. I have seen a 2door range rover that has had all the body unbolted, repaired, galvanised and rebuilt. It looks very very nice and should last forever.

The key to galving the body would be to have it acid dipped first, get rid of all the rot and seam sealer/underseal etc. Then repair with new panels and then have it dipped.
I remember seeing that RRC in LRO a few years ago.
There is a company in Birmingham I think that can do whole shells, a lot of VW type 2 enthusiasts have them done. Think it was shown on an episode of camper van crisis where they dipped one that look solid, but when shown after the front panel was like a net curtain where all the stone chips had started to rust through and made the metal thin.
My only concern with a disco would be how much good steel would be left when you take it out of the acid bath.

You just gotta bite the bullet and acid dip.

At least all repairs will be to good metal not semi rot that we are so often plagued with.

Defo on the lottery list for me!
