Yer I’d expect the wiring to be there on all models.
Cheap enough then, will get one toniggt if I’m home.

Not cheap are they lol, yes no warning light issues.

Yes fitting the led side indicator bulbs would cause the car to think a bulb is out due to low voltage. Need to fit resistors in the circuit which I have also purchased.

Yes I am tempted to order a Denzo one from advanced factors instead of waiting for my mate to sort out a replacement from LR.
Should be going to the indi tomorrow to plug in and try and figure out what’s going on so will see what they say about it.

That’s alright mate, your very knowledgable on these old tanks so no complaints here.

Ha ha no excuse for being late.

Cheapest I’ve found so far is £415 from Duckworth Land Rover via eBay

great and sounds like ur all, set up

must admit , an surprised how quickly u pick up knowledge , still i have torn into this and been going over it with a fine tooth comb

indeed ref ur alternator and just heard some horror stories and will good getting it fixed sooner than later and ur mate comes up trumps , also great it will be a denso replacement , others cause untold issues

when u do buy an iid , u won’t know how u coped without one

thks once again ref the pics

So far it’s just been replacing bulbs and yanking the odd bit of trim out lol.

That’s the thing I thought a genuine LR one is the best bet but loads of stories of them being not great. Interested to see what comes of tomorrow inspection.

Ha ha yes do what one, just holding off incase I need to spend £200 on a denso alternator.

@gstuart do you know much about the fuel burning heater?

Mine has one fitted but I’m not sure if it’s activated or even works.
Wanna get it up and running and eventually a remote start kit for it.
Can the gap IID activate it or check its condition?

the FBH will only come on below i think it’s 6c , u will see a frost symbol on ur dashboard when it’s cold enough to fire

there are several kits that u can get , have to be careful with draining ur battery

yes the iid can purge it but there is a software program u can get

here’s an extensive write up about them and the timers ,

hope that’s helps and plse ask if u have any questions

Yes that’s what I read about them. Deffo been cold enough of late but I don’t think it’s activating because the car is still cold in the mornings.

Need to try and figure out which kit is best. The ones that activate via an app seem the best option.

Good to know when I get the IID tool, see if it’s working properly.

hope i’m not asking a daft question, ref the FBH , how do u think it currently works plse , just so i know ref the ur understanding and of course it goes without saying i’m not trying to be rude in any way

many thks

I thought I would see the temperature gauge rising when starting the car and the heaters warm straight away.
Also seeing smoke from the front week. Non of which are happening.

No offence taken mate at all

Hope they help, can get daylight one’s Saturday if you need them.

Yes the lights sort of block everything else out lol.
Not a problem, will get better pictures tomorrow when I give it a hoover

thank u so much , most appreciated

plus don’t forget if i can ever help as ur not that far away, plenty of room on my drive if u need a hand, or plug my iid in for u and print any codes or live data out for u

can then keep it away from garage costs

also got my new compressor to play with , lol

Misses took the car to the garage and of course today the hand brake lights aren’t on

They plugged it in and came back with hand brake switch fault. Unfortunately or though they have a test switch they couldn’t use it because it wasn’t showing a fault at the time.

But gave me some advice on cleaning it and said to pop back if it comes on again.
So looks like as long as the wiring is ok then it’s a fairly inexpensive problem to fix. Will keep an eye on it.

They were done in 15 minutes and the best part is they didn’t even charge us a penny for doing it.

Top marks to LRS Engineering, will deffo be a returning customer.

Couple more for you @gstuart
Bloody leds are so bright they still get in the way of the shot even in daylight!

perfect , thks so much for taking the time , so that’s where they go, lol,

that drivers side panel is a pig to try and get out , mines got a split in the panel, but as it’s well hidden it can’t be seen, when i remove it , will repair it at the same time

doubt super glue will be any good, it’s where the panel has been bent and straightened , will have a look on ebay for a suitable glue

thks again and most appreciated :D

Not a problem mate.

Yes it was a complete sod to try and move it far enough to get my fingers in to get to the wires out. Can see how removing the whole thing and refitting it must be an arse.

That could well be the best bet for it, the mesh should help keep it in place.

this is the panel i mean , where it tucks up underneath

Looks bloody massive when it’s out lol.

Looking over my wheels today, got some pretty bad paint peeling plus the tyres haven’t got a great amount of life left in them.

Looking at over £1000 for a new set of decent tyres plus a refurb so think I’m gonna be looking for a replacement set of wheels instead.

Wanna go for a set of factory LR 20’s as its on road only for now plus they still seem to drive well unlike 21’s and 22’s.

Think these are top of the wish list, don’t see them as much as other sets. Just not sure if I’d want them silver, grey, black or the more expensive diamond cut.
