Hi all,

I bought a J reg defender 90 last week and there seems to be something not quite right about the wheels, i'll try and upload a picture but they are steel 8 spoke wheels maybe off a Discovery or Range Rover. The problem is the studs dont seem long enough (they don't come through the wheel nut) And the centre hole is about 10mm too big, i know this can be a bad thing with cars as it's supposed to be the centre of the hub that takes the weight of the car, not the studs.

Rear o/s, The studs arn't too bad in this pic the front n/s is the worst.

Do these wheels seem ok to you experts? Will i need new studs? Or will i be better off getting some standard defender wheels, i don't care what they look like.

Cheers, Rich

Yes I'm going to clean them up and paint them when I get a minute.
So the hub doesn't have to fit snug into the wheel centre hole then:confused::confused:

Thanks for your replies.

Thats land rover for you
Ive got 35mm spacers on mine so that disco alloys go on my defender, when the spacers go on theres a good 2-3 threads that the nut doesnt cover, you'd think they'd make the studs longer, because missing 2-3 threads would help make the wheels stay on if there was a problem
