My 2006 TD4 Auto HSE

Just filled up my second tank with Diesel Rhino.
This was the 2x one. First tank full was not great - average of 29.5mpg. I was expecting it to be better than that, seeing and 160 miles was on the motorway at 60mph. But I'm sure things will improve. It is cleaning out all the 2 stroke and Millers Ecomax in the system

did you not get on with the 2 stoke then?

Stick with it. I never noticed a big difference until I was most of the way through the 2nd tank.

With the modular wheels on I'm now averaging 37mpg.

Diesel Rhino replaces 2-stroke. And Millers. And does a load of other good stuff.

I will. I bought 2.5 litres

That will do 2500 miles!

That's a fair amount to do a test...

Errrrrr 2500 litres... So hopefully around 20,000 miles

Yeah I ment that....brain isn't in gear. Still that's a fair commitment especially as it takes a long time to do any miles down your end

The temp sensor I had fitted last year packed up and I returned it to Amazon for credit.

I have replaced it with this:



I had to find some plastic to fit to the back of the clock facia and use the wonderful Dremel to cut out the slots to fit it all in. The hot glue gun came in useful as well! Then I had to find some suitable connectors, which I ended up making myself and soldering on to the contacts and then using heat shrink, as I decided to use the clock connector block for power, rather that fighting my way down to the fuse box. So it only works when the lights are on, but as I have the LED CREE bulbs up front, I drive around with them on all the time - use as DRL's. So if I can't tell the time I don't have my DRL's on

The photo didn't capture all the digits due to the cycling of the LED's which you do not notice with the naked eye.

The rear parking sounder stopped working a week ago. The sound had been getting decidedly fuzzy over the last few months.
I ordered a new part from Land Rover and fitted it today. All back to normal.

Considering some for the front, as it would help when I try and park in very tight spaces in London.

I have a new stainless steel custom back box waiting to be fitted (thanks SES88). I have tried removing the old back box, but I can't separate them at the moment.

I had this fitted today.

Its raining (again) and I have no cover. There is an exhaust & tyre garage about 50m from home.
(that's metres, not miles )

I paid them to fit it. So easy for them )




It has a deeper tone on idle. Otherwise on the 50m drive back home, it seemed normal, apart from there is no knocking on idle or bangs when turning off the engine any more.

I have a 60 mile drive this evening, so I'll see what it is like at motorway speeds later.

Well after my trip this evening it all sounds good. Possibly slightly louder at motorway speeds, but not a great deal.

I am wondering if it feels livelier. would it really make any difference, or is it my imagination?

Less back pressure would make the turbo spool faster in all situations so everything from a traffic light GP to kick down on the motorway will feel a little quicker, probably have gained a couple of bhp and a little more torque too
