My 2006 TD4 Auto HSE

Here is the bike rack and Freelander:







It is a 3 bike rack with the 1st row taken off as the spare wheel is in the way. The upright is between the 1st & 2nd rows, so this works quite well.

Here is the Freelander now that she has her AT tyres on the 17" Evolution rims back on.

The wheels don't look quite so lost now, these 225/55 R17's are about 16mm larger diameter than the wheels I have just taken off.

Looking good mate .........nice rack.

I bought it a little present which arrived today.....

as The Freelander has a lift kit, the standard jack has barely enough lift, but this with a range from 265-610mm should be able to cope

I think a 4 tonne capacity might just be enough as well.

I didn't want one which had the central screw bit, so this is hydraulic all the way.

I extended all the breathers today so I can wade through deeper water.

I the sorted out my Tom Tom wiring, as it occasionally turns it self off, as I have it hard wired into the fuse box. I then fitted a Power magic box to power my BlackVue camera when it is parked. All appears to be working now.

The tyres are the ones the Freelander came with

General Grabber UHP 225/55 R17.

They look much better with the lift kit than the winter tyres which were 215/60 R16's.

Had a rear video drive recorder camera fitted and also a 12v power supply to the boot.

Today I had 225/65R17 General Grabber AT tyres fitted to all 5 wheels.

They look much better in the wheel arches.

I think from the measurements I made a few months ago, that I now have about an extra 70mm ground clearance all round.


ie. the best part of 4" over a Sport

They fill the arches a lot better. Is that about as big as you can go on 16's? I need some new tyres soon, I might go up a size or 2

In the mean time, I moved my CB as it was mounted to a piece of wood wedged between the transmission tunnel and the passenger seat and I could not operate the handbrake easily:
