Its been awhile since an update,
Since last time i have

fitted new tow bar wiring and plug
repaired rear light wiring that someone previously had chopped into
installed half of the rear lights
fitted a power steering box in the place of the non power assist
some painting on doors

Now that I am on Xmas holiday, I have set about fixing up the roof. Problem with the roof is its made of fiberglass and it is full of spider cracks and old bog which has started to come away. I have so far spent all day Monday to Thursday repairing it and fore see at least another days worth of work before I can primer it.
At the same time I have modified it a bit. The gutters on the side were closed off at the ends making it pointless having a gutter at all, as the water would over flow onto the front doors where the sliding windows are. So I now have extend the gutters to wrap around to where the windscreen is, allowing the water to divert there just like the metal roof. Anyway I will be sure to illustrate it once I post pictures after the roof is finished being painted.

The roof is riddled with flaking bog and cracks in the gel coat as shown. This has been and will be the most daunting job on the landy.

I have sanded entire roof now and started to fix all the cracks by grinding them down to solid fiber glass. Also removed all the old bog and refilled with new stuff. 3 tins of bog later I have started sanding it back. All the black bits are where I have marked out imperfections. I hate bogging

I am looking forward to finishing the body work so i can get onto working on more interesting areas of the vehicle and improving it.

Thanks for putting all this up. I have just enjoyed looking at what you have done so far, and am looking forward (as I am sure you are) to seeing it finished.

Thanks
Yes, will be glad to finish the painting and body work. The novelty has worn off a long time ago. I want to get into some mechanical work, seeing that's what I enjoy most.

nice colour but needs some proper rims :p

Ya dead right. I hate the factory steel rims. I am debating my next money draining exercise between engine or wheels. I want to get some 33's for it but need to get my power steering going first:D

yeah I want the black modulars, they not badly priced either. My past experience with alloys on a jap offroaded has put me off using alloys off road.
