Mud tyres ??

Hi.. Could anyone give us some names of good mud tyres for a disco td5...
Current size is 255-55-r18
Would other sizes fit on those rims ??

The problem you will find is that your current wheels are 18" - you would be far better advised to pick up a set of 2nd hand 16" wheels, then your tyre choice and price will be much improved.

PS If you are talking mud tyres, you are thinking about off-road use, so the condition of these separate 16" wheels is not at all important as they will get scratched anyway.

As dave said, a set of cheap 16" alloys will be the way to go.

Along with the increased tyre choice. It will allow you to keep some quiet road tyres on the 18s for every day use, and some aggressive muds on the 16s for off road.

Best of both worlds but depends on whether you have the space to store the spare set when not in use.

Sorry to hijack your thread but anyone know wheir I can get some mud tyres in west mids area? Had quick google but no joy so far

Got some 16" alloys sat in my garage collecting dust although not sure if D1 alloys fit D2's

They don't.

D1 is same fitment as the defender where as D2 onwards is 5x120 PCD same as the p38 range rover.

Really? Pics? I have the same size tyres. A/T not Muds though.

I had them fitted before driving home to fit the 2" lift I have. They ran fine and didn't rub at standard hight on the road. But they were quite close and I wouldn't have wanted to go off road and get any articulation in the suspension.
