been looking out for some MT's for my disco.

I've heard mixed opinions on wide verses skinny tyres...

what's the opinion on landyzone?

depends what yer wanna do..

skinny good fer snow, ice, shallow-ish mud, avoiding rocks and other sharp stuff.

wide good fer posin, sand and other surfaces where you'd want low ground pressure. with some exceptions, it all comes down to where you want them to perform best.

lots of folk buy the widest they can find purely fer posability and have no care how they'll perform anywhere.

not bovered about posing...

I'm building up a greenlaner/RTV

Me old man reckons skinny from his series 1 days... but like griff says the new boys have all got big and wide and some even gone for 15" rims so they look like balloons...

Just a thought, look at what the Army use - no wide tyres to be seen

I've got 245/70/16 BF AT's - for general use the're nothing short of BRILLAINT . . . :) I do plenty of green lane stuff all year, and the're good on the road too easily doing 80k miles plus - they're not that good in thick gooey mud, then they clog up too quick :( :(

(maybe one day I'll get four high lift jacks, then I can spin them clean every now and then :D :D :D )

Yeah.. I got GG AT2's on my TD5, and as an all round tyre you can't fault them (virtually the same pattern as the BFG's), great traction both on or off the road, and low noise...

but the car i'm building up is gonna be for where I dont wanna take the TD5.. if you know what I mean!!:D

I dont want to go too mental with the mods as I want to use it for RTV stuff as well as other playing... but I definatley want a good set of boots on it

I think i'm gonna head down the skinny route

Mud etc where you want to cut through to thew solid base & get grip, skinny.
Bottomless bog where you want to float across the top, wide.

If you are going the RTV route, check the club rules before parting with your money. Some restrict wheel/tyre width or overall diameter. Some restrict aggressive tread patterns, often at the request of the land owners to limit ground damage.
