Mpg way down?

I will say one thing for the EWP, it warms up to full temp in under 1 min no matter what then outisde temperature :). Probably why I'm getting high 20's mpg even when 75% of my driving is urban.
 
I'm not sure it's all down to the temperature, unless you're doing lots of short journeys? Increased alternator load wouldn't account for a nearly 30% drop in economy and once the engine is up to temp, it should give similar MPG despite the outside temperature.

FBH does make a difference, but only a little one - doesn't it use less than a litre an hour?

It's a combination of all of the above. A 30% drop sounds a lot but in the real world it's about rite I would think!!
In the winter my V6 drops from 22.5 to 19 mpg due to all the electric goodies being on and the longer engine/ gearbox warm up times!!
 
Correctly functioning thermostat is essential in this weather.. if you need to replace it, I'd only go for a genuine one.. especially as the FL TD4 'stat is such a nightmare to change :eek:
